"Every Individual with a disability desires the same three things:
A quality life,
Freedom to pursue that life, including employment opportunities,
Free and open access to the community in which he or she lives."
... Dr. Chaz Holder (1947 - 2002).
It has been estimated that there are 25 million amputees worldwide who will never be given the option of a prosthetic limb. The effect they have on their communities compounds as it effects our global environment.
Modern prosthetics are expensive to manufacture and fit, both in money and time. Children outgrow their Prosthetics, and must be constantly refitted. Those with partial hands often need surgery in preparation for fitting to the Prosthetic. These factors combine to make prosthetic limbs far too expensive for many of the world's amputees.
Invented by the late Dr. Chaz M Holder, a triple amputee himself, the CZBioMed system provides improved function and economics while reducing secondary health problems and other problems due to growth or change. From the beginning we targeted the NEEDS of the world's amputee population as our primary area of focus. We chose to create a brand new technology designed to provide a limb system that is:
-of High Quality
-Durable
-Inexpensive
-Field Deployable
-Field repairable
Literally a 'limb in a bag', which can be fitted to the patient in about 15 minutes, saving tremendously in both human and financial resources.

What We Hope to Accomplish
|
We want to improve the Quality of Life for amputees and others who experience limited limb function, for any reason. We provide affordable, functional prosthetic limbs to enhance or replace function. Through our non-profit alliances, we will make this technology available to individuals in all countries who would never be offered the choice. By helping others and improving their lives, we hope that we can assist in some small way to:
-Alleviate Extreme Poverty and Hunger,
-Contribute to Universal Education,
-Promote Gender Equality,
-Decrease Child Mortality,
-Obtain Environmental Sustainability,
-and Develop Global Partnerships.
Individuals with only one functioning hand are limited in the self care they can achieve, which in turn affects their emotional and psychological development, as well as their environment. Often a second person must devote time and energy to provide daily care.
The provision of our functional long lasting Socketless Prosthetics will have a positive effect on all aspects of the individual's life and our global environment.
